On Nov 8, Australians woke to a network outage in the country as one of the major tecom company Optus had seen a network outage. This outage cause inconvience in everyday life of user. The outage was reported in the morning and streatched throughout the day cause suffering to 10 million australians nearly 40% of the total population.
Due to this telco outage business payment gateway stuck, transport delayed, hospital equipment stopped and phone calls dropped. Optus outage puts many important equipments and smart machines standstill.

After the outage was reported by Kaye Reuters, Kelly Bayer Rosmarin, CEO Optus resigned after she received a report from Australian Senate. In an interview Kelly said that her regination is in interest of Optus, she wishes Optus more success and lastly said she need some time for personal reflection.
Optus owner company Singapore Telecommunications in a report said that Optus has performed well in Kelly’s tenure and gained maximum share in the market.
Nov 8 outage was the 2nd scandal under Kelly’s leadership. In Sep 2022, hackers breached Optus database and exposed customer sesntive details after that 100,000 people joined a lawsuite against Optus.
On these report, Singtel said that soon the vacancy will filled by the Peter Kaliaropoulos ex-Business MD Optus.
