California-based, Sila, a battery material manufacturing company raised $375 million led by Sutter Hill Ventures in a Series G.
Perry Creek Capital, Coatue, Bessemer Venture Partners, and others actively backed the round and account advised by T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc.
Sila Raised $375M Series By Sutter Hill Ventures
CEO Sila, Gene Berdichevsky said that Series G will enable Sila for product development and expand its operations and units. He further said that Sila was founded in 2011, with a vision to move to clean energy.
Sila is a battery material manufacturing company that ships silicon anode for lithium-ion. This practice helps Sila to manufacture performance-enhanced batteries for various electronic devices.
Moreover, Sila’s Titan Silicon anode is strong enough to power electric vehicles. It will be used in the upcoming Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Also, Series G funding enable battery manufacturing plant unit completion in Q1, 2025, and delivery will start in Q4, 2025.
