California-based, Watershed, a sustainability platform provider for enterprises raised $100 million led by Greenoaks at a valuation of $1.8 billion in Series C.
The round was actively backed by Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Emerson Collective, Elad Gil, and Galvanize Climate Solutions. The raised funds will be used to expand its reach and fund various operations to accelerate growth.
CEO of Watershed, Christian Anderson said that Watershed uses advanced technology to combine climate data and make a list of proper actions for large companies to measure and reduce their carbon footprint. Also Watershed acquired VitalMetrics creator of CEDA in 2023, a carbon emission database, to help companies with more actionable carbon emission data.
Moreover, Watershed is working on Watershed Marketplace that allows big MNCs to collect funds for clean electricity and sustainable fuel. Watershed is not just a company is a family of 300 people who work together to make a sustainable tomorrow. Watershed has partnered with Accenture, KPMG, PCAF, ERM, and etc.
Watershed has a client base of 4 out of the top 6 US banks, and 6 out of 10 private equity firms.
